WATI Alternative and Interakt Alternative for India (2026): Pricing, Features and How to Choose

WATI and Interakt are two of the best-known WhatsApp Business API platforms in India, and both are solid products. Yet businesses regularly search for a WATI alternative or an Interakt alternative: because the price of adding team members adds up, because they need a proper CRM next to their inbox, or simply because they want to be sure they are paying for the right plan.

A note before we start: CodeBase Coders makes ConverseIQ, one of the three platforms compared here. We have tried to keep this fair. Every price comes from each company's own pricing page as checked on 22 October 2026, we explain where WATI and Interakt are the better choice, and we say plainly what we could not verify. Prices change often, so confirm current rates before you buy.

At a Glance

  • WATI: Growth from ₹2,199 a month billed annually (₹2,999 billed monthly) with 3 users; Pro and Business add more users, integrations and AI agents.
  • Interakt: Growth ₹2,799 and Advanced ₹3,799 a month plus taxes, with unlimited agents on both, and published per-message rates.
  • ConverseIQ: WhatsApp plans from ₹1,200 a month, a CRM from ₹1,200 and a WhatsApp + CRM bundle from ₹2,400, with team seats included on every plan and a 15-day free trial.
  • On every platform, Meta's WhatsApp message charges are paid on top of the subscription, so compare message rates as well as plan prices.

Why Businesses Look for a WATI or Interakt Alternative

  • Team size. On plans that charge per user, a growing sales or support team can raise the monthly bill quickly.
  • CRM needs. Many businesses want leads, pipeline stages and follow-ups next to the WhatsApp inbox, not in a separate tool.
  • Message costs. With marketing messages always charged and service replies billed beyond a free allowance from 1 October 2026, per-message rates matter more than before.
  • Feature fit. Some teams need advanced chatbots or many integrations; others need simple broadcasts and a shared inbox at a lower price.
  • Support and setup. Some businesses want hands-on help with templates, chatbots and training.

What to Compare in WhatsApp Marketing Software

  1. Plan price and billing period: monthly, quarterly and annual prices often differ by 25% or more.
  2. Users or seats included, and the price of each extra one.
  3. Message charges: whether the provider adds anything to Meta's rates.
  4. Broadcasts and automation limits per month.
  5. Chatbot and AI: no-code flows, AI replies trained on your content, and their usage limits.
  6. CRM: built in, an add-on, or an integration with another CRM.
  7. Integrations: Shopify, WooCommerce, Razorpay, Google Sheets, ads and your own systems through APIs.
  8. Support, onboarding and free trial.

Message Charges: Read the Rate Card

The subscription is only part of what you pay. Meta charges for every marketing template it delivers, and from 1 October 2026 service replies are billed per message beyond a free monthly allowance, while chats that start from Click-to-WhatsApp ads open a 72-hour free window. Providers then pass those charges on in different ways: some publish their own per-message rates, some bill Meta's rates through, and some add a margin on lower plans.

Before you choose any provider, including ConverseIQ, ask three questions in writing: what is the rate for each message category in India, does it include any markup over Meta's rate card, and how is it billed (prepaid wallet or invoice)? Then estimate a typical month: your broadcasts, your utility messages such as order updates, and your service replies. Our WhatsApp Business API guide explains Meta's pricing in detail.

When WATI Is the Better Fit

  • You want a long-established platform with a large integration list, including HubSpot and Salesforce on higher plans.
  • You need multiple AI agents and AI credits as part of the plan.
  • You run high-volume broadcasts and want features such as WATI's add-on for very fast sending on the Business plan.
  • You operate in several countries and want one provider across markets.

When Interakt Is the Better Fit

  • You have a large support team and want unlimited agents on a mid-priced plan.
  • You want clearly published per-message rates for India.
  • You sell through Shopify and want a WhatsApp catalogue and commerce integrations out of the box.
  • You also want to manage Instagram conversations in the same place.

When ConverseIQ Is the Better Fit

  • You want a lower entry price for WhatsApp, with team seats included rather than charged per user.
  • You want WhatsApp and a CRM pipeline in one platform, so every chat becomes a tracked lead.
  • You want broadcasts, drip campaigns, a chatbot, an AI assistant and simple stores and orders without stitching tools together.
  • You want a team in India that can also build custom integrations, chatbots or CRM features when you outgrow the standard plan.

And to be balanced: ConverseIQ is new, so it does not yet have the long track record or the integration catalogue of the more established platforms. Use the free trial to test it with your own workflow before deciding.

Which Platform for Which Business: Four Examples

These examples show how the same three platforms suit different teams. They are illustrations, not recommendations for your business, so run your own numbers.

A D2C brand on Shopify with a five-person support team

The priorities are order updates, abandoned-cart reminders, a catalogue in WhatsApp and many agents answering at once. Interakt's unlimited agents and Shopify integration on Growth make it a natural candidate, and WATI's Shopify add-on is worth comparing. ConverseIQ suits this brand if it also wants a CRM pipeline for wholesale or repeat customers.

A coaching institute handling admission enquiries

Leads arrive from ads and the website, counsellors follow up over days or weeks, and managers want to see who is converting. A WhatsApp inbox alone is not enough; the team needs pipeline stages, reminders and reports. A platform with a built-in CRM, such as ConverseIQ's WhatsApp + CRM bundle, or WATI or Interakt connected to a CRM, fits better than broadcasts alone.

A real estate developer running site visits

Enquiries come from Click-to-WhatsApp ads, and every lead should be qualified, assigned and booked for a site visit with reminders. Look for ad integrations, lead assignment and scheduling. ConverseIQ offers a Site Visit Scheduler add-on for this; with other platforms, check whether booking flows need a separate tool.

A clinic sending appointment reminders

Most messages are utility reminders and service replies, with few marketing broadcasts. Message rates for utility and service messages, a simple chatbot for FAQs and two or three users matter more than advanced AI. The entry plan on any of the three may be enough, so compare total monthly cost carefully.

Questions to Ask in Every Demo

  • What will my monthly bill be for my exact number of users, on the billing period I will choose?
  • What are your per-message rates for India by category, and do they include a markup?
  • What happens when I hit a broadcast, automation or AI limit: is it blocked, or charged?
  • Can you show my real use case, not a generic demo?
  • Which integrations are included on my plan, and which cost extra?
  • How do I export my contacts, templates and chat history if I leave?
  • What support do I get during setup, and after?

Switching Providers: What to Plan For

  • Your WhatsApp number: ask both the old and new provider how your number and WhatsApp Business account will move, and plan the switch for a quiet period.
  • Message templates: list your approved templates so they can be recreated or carried over.
  • Contacts and opt-ins: export your contacts with their opt-in records, tags and custom fields.
  • Chatbots and automations: document each flow so it can be rebuilt and tested.
  • Integrations: reconnect your store, payment links, Sheets and CRM, and test end to end.
  • Chat history: check what history you can export before your old plan ends.

What we could not verify

To keep this comparison honest, here is what the public pricing pages did not tell us. WATI's per-message rates sit behind rate-card links on its pricing page, so we have not quoted them. WATI's and ConverseIQ's pages do not say whether GST is included in the listed prices, while Interakt states "+taxes". ConverseIQ bills Meta's message charges separately but does not publish whether they include a markup, which is exactly why we recommend asking every provider, including us, the same question in writing. We have not included customer counts, ratings or performance claims for any platform, because none could be checked independently.

A Decision Checklist

  1. How many people need access today, and in a year?
  2. What will each platform cost per month for that team, on the billing period you will actually choose?
  3. How many marketing, utility and service messages do you send each month, and what will they cost on each platform?
  4. Do you need a CRM pipeline, or just an inbox and broadcasts?
  5. Which integrations are must-haves?
  6. How advanced do your chatbot and AI needs really are?
  7. How much setup and training help do you want?
  8. Have you tested your real workflow in each free trial?

Conclusion

There is no single best WATI alternative or Interakt alternative; there is the right fit for your team, your message volume and your sales process. WATI suits teams that want a long-established platform with many integrations and AI agents. Interakt suits larger support teams that value unlimited agents and published message rates. ConverseIQ suits businesses that want a lower entry price, seats included and a CRM built into the same platform.
